Solar measurement system design

Our solar measurement systems are modular and adaptable to meet the specific requirements of different solar energy projects. We offer two main systems:

Helioscale Alpha

The Helioscale Alpha is a turnkey measurement system specifically designed for site analysis and operational monitoring of PV and CPV systems. The setup includes:

• Data logger
  High-precision data logger for recording and storing measurement data.
• Solar radiation sensors
  Pyranometers and pyrheliometers for measuring global and direct solar radiation.
• Environmental and module sensors
  Temperature and wind speed sensors for recording ambient conditions.
• Communication
  Integrated GPRS modem for real-time data transmission and remote monitoring.

  Autonomous power supply through solar and battery operation.

The Helioscale Alpha is ideal for projects that require comprehensive solar resource analysis and continuous performance monitoring.

Helioscale Phi

The Helioscale Phi is an extended measuring system that offers the functions of the Helioscale Alpha as well as additional features that are specially optimized for CSP plants. The design includes:

• Data logger with extended interfaces
  Support for a larger number of sensors and communication options.
• Advanced sensors
  High-precision instruments for measuring direct normal irradiance (DNI) and diffuse horizontal irradiance (DHI).
• Multi-point monitoring
  Sensors for monitoring multiple measurement points within the system.
• Advanced data analysis
  Integrated software tools for detailed analysis and visualization of measurement data.
• Redundant power supply
  Combination of solar, wind and battery operation for maximum reliability.

The Helioscale Phi offers a comprehensive solution for the most demanding solar energy projects, especially for CSP plants.

Project example: Solar energy measurements in Spain

Wilmers Messtechnik GmbH installed the Helioscale Alpha system for a large solar energy project in Spain. The project included:

• Complete measuring stations
  Equipped with pyranometers, temperature and wind speed sensors for comprehensive site analysis.
• Real-time data transmission
  The data was continuously transmitted via GPRS modem to a central server, where it was validated by automatic algorithms and displayed graphically.
• Autonomous power supply
  Use of solar and battery power to ensure uninterrupted data recording.

Thanks to the accuracy and reliability of the Helioscale Alpha system, valuable data was collected that helped to optimize the solar installation and maximize energy yields.
